1998 - 99 National Champs The One and Only UT Vols!

The UT Vols pulled off a stunning 13 - 0 season this year! All hopes where with the vols as they played their first game against Syracuse. Vols fans where ready to get a first look at the new UT vols in action, The game was very close with Tennessee barely pulling out a win. The next game was to be against Florida a team the Vols consider enemies! The vols beat the Gators with an overtime field goal which put the vols at 2 - 0. The only other games the vols were concerned about was Alabama and Arkansas, Alabama was beaten to a pulp! but when Arkansas rolled into Neyland Stadium it was a different attitude! The vols barely edged the razorbacks by a miss handled snap by the Arkansas Quarterback! Then when the dust settled two teams were called upon #1 Tennessee and #2 Florida State. This was a gruelling game both teams in the hunt for a championship but due to the rookie quarterback of Florida State and the well trained and battle ready Vols! The game became one of the Vols best played games holding a top
ranked wide receiver to the lowest total yards of his career!
